Their battery electrolyser concept unlocks clean hydrogen from proven, recyclable technology – at low cost and with real-world impact. In the UK alone, over £1.5bn has been spent curtailing wind power since 2021. Loughborough’s approach shows we don’t have to waste that energy – we can store it and turn it into hydrogen, supporting renewables and reducing emissions. Monbat is one of the largest and well-established battery manufacturers in Europe. Monbat is deeply invested in technology and innovation to improve battery performance, enhance energy density, and extend the lifespan of the products. Monbat participates in the MESCH project with production of two types of plates, tubular and flat pasted used in electrolyzer cells.
