EnerHy CDT researcher Jiaqi Wang has won first place in the Student Poster Competition at the ASTM International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing 2026 (ICAM 2026).
Jiaqi presented his poster, ‘Additive manufacturing of complex electrolyte structures for protonic ceramic fuel cells’, at the conference in Orlando, Florida. ICAM brings together researchers, industry leaders, government agencies and standards specialists from around the world.
His poster showcased research into advanced processing techniques for next-generation fuel cell technologies. A member of EnerHy Cohort 2 and a First Class Materials Science graduate from Loughborough University, Jiaqi is investigating how different manufacturing techniques affect the properties and performance of proton-conducting solid oxide electrolytes, with the aim of improving their structural integrity and long-term durability.
Reflecting on the award, Jiaqi said: “I’m honoured to have been awarded 1st place at ICAM 2026 this year. It was a real privilege to present alongside fellow talented researchers pushing the boundaries of additive manufacturing. The conversations over the week gave me a plethora of new ideas to take back to my lab.”
Jiaqi also thanked his supervisor, Sina Saremi Yarahmadi, for his guidance and the Engineering Hydrogen Net Zero CDT for funding his research.
Congratulations to Jiaqi on this excellent achievement.
